The state of Alaska is poised to set up regulatory framework for on-site cannabis consumption at dispensaries throughout the state. According to a recent article in USA Today:
Under the Marijuana Control Board‘s rules, consumers will be able to enter a licensed retail store, purchase up to 1 gram of flower or edibles with up to 10 mg of THC and use it in a separate indoor or outdoor area that meets specific standards. Businesses will first need to apply for an onsite consumption endorsement, however, Alcohol and Marijuana Control Office Director Erika McConnell told USA TODAY.
It will take about another several weeks for the Department of Law to review the proposed changes. Dispensaries would need to provide a separate room for the consumption. There is also a provision in the proposed law which would also allow for outdoor consumption, such as rooftops and patios.
